Writing with Show don’t tell

Hi Bloggers,

This week we have been adding show don’t tell to our writing hope you like it.

Squelch, squish, squelch, thick brown stuff squeezed into my shoes filling them to the top with brown substance. A chilling touch slivered up my spine causing my hands to rub together rapidly. Like a steam train, I pushed for the finish line, cheers rose up around and my smile widened from ear to ear. I made it! Full of excitement, I ran across the line. Eagerly, we ran over to Rachel who pulled out her phone, clicked the film button and asked a few questions. “Did you like it?” pondered Rachel.
“Yes,” I cried.
“Would you do it again?”
“100%, yes I would do it again,” I noted.

Can you notice where the show don’t tell is?

Hi Bloggers,

I would say it is about some kids who are going a holiday but the plane crashes in the amazon rain forest and they need to find a way to get out and they face a whole lot of problems along the way.

I would recomed it because it has great language features in it like show don’t tell and it’s a really interesting story!

Would you recomend it? Why?

Hi Bloggers,

I would say that if you are swimming at night and you see red eyes get out of the water because those red eyes belong to a crocodile.

What would you say?

Smart Searching

Hi Bloggers,

This are my smart searching slides.

It turns out you don’t need to have little words or punctuation when searching and the order of words matter.

Did you know that punctuation does not matter?

Hi Bloggers,

This is my sentense I used quivering and barreled hope you like it: Quivering, the girl barreled the black shadow of a creature.

Can you make an interesting sentence using 1 of 2 of those words?

Ako Hiko film festival!

Hi Bloggers,

Last term the Den got in to small groups and made films.

My group’s film was a stop motion called “The Mulity Meow”.

It was quite hard because we had to take a photo then move something and then take another photo and repeat that lots of of times. I think our group took about over 3 hundred photos!

Hope you like it!

Have you ever made a film if you have what was it about?
